From South Korea comes a shot of Genesis on fire.
The all-new Genesis G80 was launched in March, and now we can see the first specimen caught in the fire. According to available information, the 54-year-old car owner was driving in a new luxury limousine on the highway towards the city of Jinja, and then at one point, a fire engulfed the engine compartment.
The only thing he could do was stop the car, move to a safe distance, and call the fire department. They arrived quickly, and the fire was extinguished after seven minutes. The damage is expected to be as great as the flames engulfed most of the front of the vehicle.
According to the official report of the fire station from Changwon, the cause of the fire has not been determined, UPI News reports. The investigation is currently going in two directions, and one is trying to rule out a possible driver error. Hyundai also starts the investigation but does not want to go public yet.
If it turns out to be true, it will only be a combination of coincidences that caused the car fire. This would remove any suspicion of any factory defect in the car. By the way, Genesis has been consistently at the top since its introduction a few years ago, both in terms of customer satisfaction and safety.
